Tidal Master desktop app HD and Master tracks.I have tried multiple configs in Audio MIDI Setup to no avail.Ī few rough notes on all of the following scenarios I've tested that ultimately crackle/stutter: I have tried numerous cables, active & passive TB3/USB hubs, and several external DACs which suffer the same fate of crackling, clicking and stuttering periodically as soon as I play a track of 44.1kHz or higher through Tidal Master or Amazon Music HD. It is worth note I have an external monitor which has been a catalyst on prior model's issues. I still have a very fresh Macbook Air M1 with an external RME ADI-2 DAC FS (latest firmware) connected through a Caldigit TS3+ (latest firmware) which has served me well through several Intel Macbook pros. I get a crackle/stutter maybe once every few songs, but it's not jarring. I've currently settled for the Spotify desktop app on 'Very High' quality with normalization enabled. Anyone else have success with lossless or 44.1kHz+ streaming services like Tidal Masters, Amazon Music HD, Qobuz, etc.? I'm loving the Macbook Air M1 so far but I have not been able to find a lossless music streaming service that doesn't end up crackling or stuttering periodically which is reminiscent of the issues on slightly older Intel macs with the T2. Update: upgrading to OSX 11.2 resolved this for me as noted in this comment.
